Senior technical leadership, without the full-time hire.

Fractional CTO work, API architecture and hands-on Laravel development for companies that need senior judgement on a flexible basis.

Most of the companies we work with don’t need another pair of hands. They need someone senior enough to look at the whole system, the code, the team and the roadmap, and say what to do next, and then stay around long enough to see it through.

That’s what this side of the work is. Steve has been a CTO, an engineering manager and a fractional CTO through more than one acquisition, and the advice comes from having made those calls before rather than from a framework on a slide.

When it’s time to build, we build. A lot of our engineering work is Laravel and API work, done to the conventions your team already knows, because the measure of a good engagement is how easily your own people can carry on once it ends.

01 What's included

01.1Fractional CTO
Technical leadership a few days a month. Roadmap, architecture, hiring, and the decisions your team keeps putting off because nobody senior is there to make them.
01.2API design & architecture
Designing APIs people actually want to integrate with, or untangling the one you already have. Contracts, versioning, errors, authentication, and documentation that matches what ships.
01.3Contract Laravel & PHP development
Building the thing, following the conventions your team will recognise, so the code is still easy to work on long after we've gone.
01.4Acquisition due diligence
A clear technical read on a codebase and the team behind it, before you buy it or while you're selling it.
We came for the APIs but we stayed for the clean code, robust systems architecture and deep knowledge of Laravel conventions. The team made our code faster, more stable and easier to maintain ourselves in the future.
